PsychotherapyA person may seek psychotherapy if they feel they have reached a point in their life where a past traumatic incident, unresolved family issues or recurrent patterns of behaviour, thoughts or feelings are holding them back from personal wellbeing and satisfying relationships in the present. Psychotherapists generally go through the process of psychotherapy themselves as part of their training and it is this experiential training which gives them the skills to work deeply with another individual.
Psychotherapy is a process which helps you to find the capacity within yourself to evolve and develop as a person. People often engage with the process of psychotherapy on and off for several years, not necessarily because they are experiencing a current crisis but, because they feel it is a valuable thing to do – to make time for self development. www.psychosynthesis.org |
